Asking For Father, Male 61, Lahore
My father had a road accident which resulted in tibia fractures and this wound on 15th. Please check this wound condition is it okay? I'm so worried about this black parts. He is diabetic patient. We firstly used Fusiderm and now only Pyodine gell. Please guide if it looks like something wrong like infection?
Wound is infected. Please check blood sugar levels and suitable antibiotics should be prescribed
The wound shows black discoloration along with open areas that might indicate tissue damage. Given that your father is diabetic, wounds can be slower to heal and more prone to infection. The black areas could signal tissue necrosis (dead tissue), which requires prompt medical evaluation.
It is crucial to have this wound examined in person by a healthcare professional immediately. Infection control and wound care for diabetic patients are delicate and must be managed under medical supervision, possibly involving antibiotics, wound cleaning, and possibly surgical intervention.
Please seek urgent care at a hospital or clinic to avoid complications. In the meantime, keep the wound clean, avoid self-medicating beyond what your doctor advised, and monitor for increased redness, swelling, warmth, foul smell, or fever, which are signs of infection.
Do not delay seeing a healthcare professional urgently.
