You should generally avoid intercourse for about four to six weeks after a C section waiting for your doctors approval at your postpartum checkup as this allows your uterus to shrink cervix to close and incision to heal reducing risks of pain infection and bleeding. While some risk lessens after two weeks waiting until the bleeding mean lochia stops and you feel ready is crucial so listen to your body and communicate with your doctor and partner
