Aoa doctor. I wanna ask about my cousin who is suffering from pcos since starting of her mensuration cycle. Her mensuration circle has started at the age of 16 n it was not regular. Some time it comes after 2 month or later there is no recovery after treatment. What should she has to do for regularity of her periods. Thank u

-Dear early menses could be ovulatory, anovulatory, regular and Irregular.
_in teenage reproductive system is developing only so menses could be irregular but if it is associated with weight gain, abnormal hairs growth then should be investigated.so check on these symptoms as well.
-have balanced diet, weight and Bmi.
-try to have exercise, walk and yoga daily.
-have recreational activities and quit recreational drugs.
_if above symptoms like abnormal hairs growth and weight gain then need blood sex hormones on day 2 of periods (serum testosterone, serum progesterone, prolectin, insulin, Fsh and Lh) and pelvic scan for ovarian cysts and ovary size measurement.
-try to reduce salt, suger, oil and spice from diet.
-to have hormonal support to regulate periods have tab norethisterone 5 mgs twice daily from day 4 to day 26 for 3 cycles.

If she has already been diagnosed as PCO , thenTell her to reduce her weight , start taking glucophage and inositol. She should take famila for 3 months to regularise her period s and see after that about her pattern
