I am having pain in my neck and shoulder. The pain actually extends from right side of the neck to the right shoulder. It originates from between C1 and C2 and then flows to the right side of neck and into the right shoulder. The right side of the atlas also aches severely. I used to work on laptop for research work i felt this pain from then but since i am doing no such work from last 8-9 months it still aches. And causes trouble while sleeping.
Hi. sorry to hear about your problem. Have you had Xray of Nck(Cervical Spine ) done or not??. Any other test done?? Please let me know. Thanks
how do you know about C1/2, Atlas?
are you using too much Dr google?
you should see a doctor in person, get examined then X-ray and may be mri scan.
till then take care of neck posture, do physiotherapy, massage and simple painkillers.

How could I have conveyed without knowing where and what the problem is??
I have seen a physician here in Kashmir today ... he mentioned its C7 and it can be compression and one other thing which I dnt know.. but he didn't recommend x-ray. He prescribed philadelphia collar and vimpex,eticox,comforta and mabil for two weeks and later on to be followed by MRI and etc from rawalpindi if not well by then.

well it's good start to see someone... c7 and c1 are miles apart.
follow your doctor's instructions and inshAllah things will settle down.
X-ray is not always required.

May be doctors study different anatomy in diffferent colleges. I myself searched and located it was between C1 and C2
But we have gotten a pearl here who said its C7.
Kindly pay few visits in Kashmir so we can bridge the gap of C1 and C7.

ok i will come to Kashmir to resolve this issue of C1 or C7.
But first things first, you should get better.

Physiotherapist might help you in learning good posture, managing pain, exercises. sometimes traction therapy is helpful. Along with medicine, physiotherapy may give better and early results

Its a radicular pain cz of nerve compression.Get ur x-ray cervical spine to rule out any gross pathology.
Kindly get your x-ray cervical spine done and tell me its report

Neck pain radiating to right shoulder is typically from cervical vertebrae. Plz use proper sized hard cervical collar for minimums two weeks. Local orthopaedic surgeon can suggest you right size.
You also consult physiotherapist. Those are amazing for pain controls

Basically I am from kashmir. We do not have labs here for different tests. Today I have seen a physician due to acute pain. He started the basic treatment by prescribing philadelphia collar and vimpex,eticox,comforta and mabil for two weeks. I have asked for x-ray but the Doc told its of no use in this case and he mentioned its C7.

You need Xray Cervical spine and may be MRI as well. CBC, Calcium and Vitamin D levels. Kindly get all these test done and let me know. Thanks

My CBC report is all normal Alhamdulillah
Calcium serum: 9.8 &
Hydroxy vitamin D: 42.2 both stated as normal
X-ray and MRI ... will go for once convenient to travel
