Asking for Brother, Male, 55 years old, Karachi
My brother is diagnosed by chance with cyst in left kidney by ultrasound carried out for upper abdominal pain. He has no pain in kidney at all. Doctor said only keep it under observation with 6 months interval. I want to ask expert doctors, what is the significance of this cyst and what next step should be adopted. Please guide
If it is a single and a simple cyst causing no symptoms then you just need to follow its size on subsequent ultrasound. If the size of the cyst will increase or if it will develop any change in it ( like septations etc ) then he may require further scans like CT scan etc.
