My tounge has no space in the mouth causing it to fall back when I sleep giving me sleep apnea. Does doctors provide MARPE to expand adult palate?
Marpe is an option but it depends on your teeth position. Other simple appliances can be as effective as marpe. You should visit for a thorough clinical evaluation
Need to see clinically if there’s a need for expansion
Yes I am providing MARPE in my clinic to patients who need it. But you will have to come for a complete clinical assessment to see if it's required in your case or not.
Dear patient
MARPE is possible and it yields good results in teenages, however it may be limited in adult patients due to maturation of the bone of maxilla. it requires opening of suture so that job can expand however in adults the bones are mature and expansion results are limited to a few millimeters. if more expansion is required then SARPE is that better option. all of this depends upon your jaw with and your skeletal maturity which needs to be properly evaluated in clinic in Lahore with specific Xrays and facial analysis.
kindly book an appointment so that we can analyze your problem and help you improve your apnea.
best regards

Hello. There are various reasons of Sleep Apnea and this is diagnosed by a specialist preferably in a dedicated facility e.g. a sleep clinic. There is a rare chance of sleep apnea occurring due to narrow palate and is more likely due to tonsils and other medical related conditions. I cannot confirm the diagnosis at this moment. In case the cause of apnea is confirmed as to be narrow palate we can indeed treat this condition. In adults expansion of palate is sometimes tricky and most definitely requires a certain degree of surgical intervention. Regards.
