Hello I am facing pain and very clear Cracking sound from my both knees . initially it was just in one leg and I have severe pain while moving a liitle even problem in offering Namaz or walk..then I went to the Dr and he prescribed me some Vit D tablet and sunvit ampule . I used this tablets for two weeks and visited Dr again .pain was much better but sound was same.. visited him thrice same medicine but no effect .. please help cause it's been a year now and problem is increasing in both knees.. now others can also hear the sound when I walk or move . I feel embarras and also worried that it might be dangerous.i am single yet

It appears that you are having maltracking of both knee caps resulting in cracking noises. Medicines don’t work. I need to examine your both knees for assessment and then I can advise the best course of treatment. In the meantime please do quads strengthening exercises twice daily for 10 minutes. Please cheque these exercise techniques from you tube and also listen to my lecture on you tube by typing dr sikandar iqbal

thank you so much Dr but I live in Karachi. these sounds are very disturbing and sometimes it gets painful too when I walk or go somewhere for work

it's due to quadriceps weakness
go for strengthening exercise ( physio), dont bend ur knees beyond 90 degree for 6 weeks .

Hi, sound from any joint has no significance. However if you got pain in knees that needs to dig out. I suggest you to do quadriceps strengthening exercises which you can find out online and if pain persist after 2 weeks then consult orthopaedic surgeon. I practice in Islamabad and OPD is closed at the moment because of corona situation. Thanks
Cracking sound from joints sometimes is normal. Check your vitam d level if low use calcium and vitam d for 3 moths.

clicking sound from knee is common but not necessarily dangerous. if you have pain then the reason of pain must be find out by history or clinical examination followed by relevant investigations.

yes it started with severe pain but when I take pain killer so pain was relieved.but few days back I just started exercise so pain started again

clinical examination of your knee required meanwhile you can continue pain killers for atleast 10 days

for anterior knee pain u just need quadriceps strengthening exercises (u can fine it on YouTube or can consult Physiotherapist), avoid squatting .
regarding Cracking sounds ... it might be Snaping syndrome which is very irritating sometimes but make it clear that it's not something to worry . just reassure yourself that in some people this is normal thing .
