My son had fever. Doctor told us its viral and he also has enlarged tonsils. His fever went away in a day after antibiotic. But the problem is his tonsils are continuously becoming bigger and swollen. But he has no difficulty in breathing, no fever, no pain in throat. But tonsils are swelling. Is it normal for a child to have this much swelling in tonsils ? We are giving him calamox , pulmonol and orega syrups. Do we need to see an ENT specialist? Or the swelling will go away on it's own. The attached picture is from 1 day before. The swelling has increased now.

It is not normal for a child to have continuously enlarged tonsils without any other symptoms. It is possible that the initial diagnosis of a viral infection was incorrect and that your son may have a bacterial infection or another underlying condition. It is recommended that you schedule an appointment with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist for a proper evaluation and to determine the appropriate course of treatment. In the meantime, continue to give your son the medications prescribed by your doctor and monitor his symptoms closely.
