Talk to Pulmonologist / Lung on Breathing Issue

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 20 years old, pulmonologist

Salam. For a few months, I suddenly wake up to my throat closing up. I can feel a huge mass that doesn’t let me breathe and due to that and being severe uncomfortable as I cannot breathe, I wake up. Then, it takes me around an hour or two to swallow that mass down and be okay. Today, I woke up to choking not because of a huge mass, that was present in small quantities, but I could feel my lungs constricting. I suddenly was having trouble breathing, was having angina and a very hollow feeling in my chest. I developed violent coughing to somehow open the air passages and it got better after half an hour. I literally couldn’t breathe at all. After literally an hour or two, the same thing is happening again. It feels as if my ribs and chest are on fire. I do not smoke, do not have asthma ( not that I know of.) then why is this happening? Can any doctor guide me? Thank you so much. Jazakallah khair.

Didn’t get any chest X-ray and I am not allowed to go to a hospital because my parents have never allowed me. They dont even let me out of the house. As for weight, its around 40ish 50. I lost 40 kgs too.

This could be panic attacks/anxiety too but need proper history and examination. 40 kg weight loss is not normal.

Follow these steps strictly.

Drink 10 to 12 glass of water daily (normal temperature not cold)
Sleep 8 to 10 hours at night time only.
Eat food slowly (chew food properly)
Drink water before starting meal n dont drink water after food
Perform deep breathing exercise by lying on a bed without pillow n lights off then inhale air as deep as you can from your nose and exhale from mouth slowly. Repeat this for 5 times and do the same by sitting on a chair or floor.
Do squats 10 times ( 2 times a day)
Ask someone to do your neck shoulders and upper back massage with slightly warm oil 2 times a week before you go to sleep.
Do reading for 10 minutesa day (book, magazine or anything) in normal voice (not too loud not low)
Look at trees n birds or sky for 10 to 20 minutes silently during daytime.
