For cough?

The xray is normal. There is only prominent bronchovascular markings which shouldn't be of any concern. However he should immediately quit smoking. You can take my appointment if you need help in smoking cessation. Cough could be due to the on going or previous smoking.

This should be stopped. There are nicotine replacement therapies available plus little bit of counselling. You need to counsel him otherwise there are risk factors for heart attack, stroke and lung cancer. Meanwhile if cough is really bothering him then you can consider starting some inhalers.

Sure. What about using PODs/Vape?

They are also harmful. New disease entities are being reported in the West because of increased use of E-cigarettes.

X-ray chest is showing increased vascular markings which is nothing serious and a common in finding in smokers.Your father needs proper consultation with some pulmonologist for cessation of smoking and cough management.

Thanks for asking opinion.Smoker cough or Chronic bronchitis is not normal It is a disease now.First thing as to council patient to quit smoking and than treatment with rehabilitation program. This needs consultation with Dr preferably a pulmonologist. The Chest x ray is reflection of early C.O.P.D.
