Asking for Someone Else, Other, Female, 48 years old, Islamabad
My aunt is 45 years old and has been experiencing significant back pain. Her MRI Lumbar Spine report shows disc bulges at L2-L3, L3-L4, and L5-S1 with nerve compression. There is also a small disc protrusion at L4-L5 causing pressure on the nerves. The doctor has suggested surgery. Before going for surgery, we would like to take a second opinion from an experienced neurosurgeon/spine specialist. Is surgery really necessary in this condition? Can this problem be treated without surgery through medicines, physiotherapy, or injections? Has anyone experienced a similar condition and received successful treatment without surgery? Please guide us regarding the best treatment options and whether surgery can be avoided. The MRI report is attached for reference. Any expert advice would be highly appreciated.
