Asking for Father, Male, 70 years old, Rawalpindi
Last year my father was diagnosed with enlarged prostrate. The PSA level and MRI showed it was benign. After a year his PSA level is found as 8.30 ng/mL. Can it be melignant?
Need further testing to rule out either it is benign or malignant.
Yes. It can be malignant. Patient needs prostate biopsy which will confirm about the malignancy..
Kindly visit a urologist near you. A digital rectal exam is must to decide whether patient needs prostate biopsy or not. Also you might need to repeat PSA because 1 high reading doesn't confirm. Also you may need to have a PSA Density calculated in case his prostate is too large. All of these technical things have to be done by a urologist and not you alone. So, visit a good urologist.
