Lithotripsy is not a good treatment option if the stone is lodged in the ureter causing blockage.
Ureteroscopy and stone fragmentation from inside the body (done under Anesthetic) is the best option to promptly unblock the tube and prevent permanent damage.
On what basis you have been told that kidney is damaged? Have you had a Renogram (MAG-3) which can tell us how much the function of each kidney is.
