Prolexa tablet uses include treating major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and social anxiety. It contains Escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that works by increasing serotonin levels in the brain to improve mood and reduce anxiety.
Your doctor might give you Prolexa Tablet for:
Major depressive disorder
Generalized anxiety disorder
Social anxiety disorder
Panic disorder
Obsessive-compulsive disorder
Always follow your doctor's instructions exactly.
Starting dose: 10mg once daily.
Maintenance: 10-20mg once daily.
Maximum dose: 20mg per day.
Starting dose: 5mg once daily; maximum 10mg daily.
Not recommended for children under 18 years.
How to Take:
Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Can be taken with or without food.
Take at the same time each day, preferably in the morning.
May take several weeks to show full effect.
Don't use Prolexa Tablet if you:
Are allergic to Escitalopram or Citalopram
Are taking or have taken MAO inhibitors within 14 days
