it depends on what type of surgery you're undergoing and the expertise of your primary anesthetist in handling that procedure in that type of anesthesia.

it depends what is the surgery ? general anesthesia covers all sorts , but for specific regions regional anesthesia is good that can b carried without putting to u sleep ( regional anesthesia ) like Epidural block for pain less delivery etc . pls specify the surgery .
