Asking For Someone else, Mother, Female, 62 Years old, Faisalabad
Aslamaolikum Doctors. After bypass syrgery My mother is experiencing severe, sudden pain in the right side of her back, which radiates to her right arm and fingers. The pain is unbearable, even though she takes painkillers three times a day. Additionally, that part of her body feels numb. At the site of her chest stitches, the last stitch is discharging a mild fluid. Kindly guide me if this is a serious issue or not. I will also upload a picture below for reference. Kindly suggest treatment.
Please take her to the surgeon who has operated on her, as he might prescribe antibiotics (oral or iv), depending on the condition of the wound. Continue the painkillers and get an xray chest done if she has some amount of shortness of breath.
1. When was surgery done ? 2. Is she diabetic ? 3. What pain killers she is taking? 4. Take her to operating surgeon

Her surgery was performed on 21-11-2024. She is also a diabetic patient, with her blood sugar levels reaching a maximum of 200 after meals and ranging between 100-150 while fasting. She takes Tonoflex twice a day. I met her surgeon on 5-12-2024, and he advised administering two injections of Vancomycin or Meronem daily for seven days.
