Talk to Dentist on Prolonged Tooth Infection , Dentist

My husband had a tooth implant 2 years ago. Later he got an infection in that area. He just treated it with taking antibiotics pills by quacks. But never got results. Now he met the same quack who implanted that tooth. He removed it and gave antibiotics for many days. My husband got sleepy for 24 hrs everyday while taking antibiotics. But net recovered. I literally forced him many times to get a proper consultation but he ignored me just to save money and continued to go to that quack. He was also losing his weight without any reason. Please give me advice. And tell me what that infection could be?
