I feel slight pain under left jawline only when I touch it, upon tilting my head backwards I could feel something swollen and painful to touch, its movable ,it has been there for a while and also I feel a little pain in gums while brushing my teeth on lower left jaw. I do not have any abscess on tooth. Is it a swollen lymph node? It has been a while and I have not experienced any other symptom. I am worried if its life threatening. Please do advise. Thanks.

it could be a swollen lymphnode or something else. it needs detailed examination either u r having any crown or other prosthesis on that side or may be some tooth z underlying cause... so without detailed history and examination its difficult to end upon a result.

Hello, as you have described it does seem as if you have a swollen lymphnode. the most common reason for lymphnode enlargement is infection (bacterial or viral). it is very common that due to dental infections the nodes in this area get enlarged. it may be infection related to you lower teeth or gums. any node that doesn't resolve in 2 weeks time must be checked, as viral infections usually get resolved in 2 weeks time. if your swelling isn't resolving then it's better that you visit the dentist for proper dental work-up and treatment. unfortunately dental infections don't resolve at their own and you need to get proper treatment as there shudnt be any source of infection in the body for a longer time.
your dentist will check your teeth and gums clinically and may take radiographs to find the cause of this swelling. Good treatment is always based on proper diagnosis, which in your case requires physical and radiographic examinations.
