If done carelessly then yes it is quite destuctive to the tooth structure. I would advice that you get regular braces from a specialist and ask a few of his/her old patients about their experience before you select a doctor.

their are no side effects if it is advised by a experienced dentists. if your dentists has adviced you to go with Invisalign then sure but if you have determined your self that you need invisible braces then please consult an expert in the field because it can have harmful effects if not planed properly.
