Doctor usually prescribe dressing after burn especially if its 2nd degree burn ( first degree burns are both severe enough and third degree burns are usually treated in the hospital. The bandage u use should be bob stick gauze cotton based and should be changed daily. Your dressing protects u from getting your wound dirty, prevents touching and causing friction, avoid body fluid evaporation if the burnt area is large.

How your dressing is damaging ur burn more? U should talk to your doctor to keep it without dressing if u can keep it clean and do not let it hurt further
