Asking For Self, Male 65, islamabad
My father has been diagnosed with cellulites since 5 to 6 years. The doctors prescrived him antibiotics like augmetin 650 and 1000 mg. The condition get cured at that time but after sometime it gets back again. The doctors suggested him to wear stockings but this is not possible to wear all the time because of the weather. His leg gets too much swollen and also gets too much hot and after this it becomes difficult for him to walk. Can anyone plz tell me clearly that is varicose veins and cellulites is same or not and secondly to which type of doctor should we consult general surgeon or vascular surgeon for cellulites??

please consult a vascular surgeon or a plastic surgeon. varicose veins can cause cellulitis.
he has to sit with legs raised instead of on floor. weather is changing so sticking might help more. keep the skin clean and dry.
Varicose veins are thick serpentine like prominent veins visible to the naked eye on the legs. They become more prominent when the person is standing.
Whereas cellulitis is a pus filled swelling that may occur anywhere on the body.
Varicose veins and cellulitis are quite unrelated. However vasculitis may lead to stasis ulcers on the legs.
You have not mentioned any details of the lesions do it's really impossible to comment on what your have written.
It works be a lot better if you make an appointment for online consultation so that I am able to see what it is.
