Talk to Dermatologist on Confusion Regarding Dosage Of Antibiotics For Acne

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Female, 24 years old, Karachi

Consulted dermatologist for acne today. Among other medicines, Azopik 500mg was prescribed once daily for 14 days.

The literature in the medicine box, however, mentions the dosage for skin conditions to be 500mg as a single dose for 3 days.

Also, the doctor has also prescribed Kanlor (Lornoxicam) although the patient doesn’t suffer from arthritis etc. And the acne is also not much painful.

Please advise. Thanks

Antibiotic dose given by your consultant depends on your acne, in moderate to severe cases 250mg or 500mg daily is advised whereas in mild form of acne 250mg thrice per week is advised.
