Talk to Dermatologist on Dryness On Skin

Asking for Other, Male, 0.4 years old, Rawalpindi

Baby age 4 month. There is a dry patch on baby’s forehead and nose which mostly become prominent after bath. Dermatologist perscribe flucinate tropical oil. Is this oil safe to use on baby as it contain tropical steroids. Please guide

only for short period of use ...it's safe.
keep baby skin moisturise do not use soap for his bath or use soap free.

The dermatologist whom u visited was the best judge for ur child. if u visited him....u still don't trust him ? if he has given steroid it must be required by the baby. topical steroids are safe to use if used for a small period of time.

Definitely I trust him but as baby is wuite small and he said himself its a simple dryness no need of concern but still recommended tropical steroids. As I read steroids are not good and should be taken as a last resort.

u r right. but if ur child is diagnosed with cradle cap then steroids are given for 2 weeks to the patient n is reviewed. if u read abt Panadol it has ample side effects too. but we still use it. as its reqd

No it is not cradle cap as it is not on his head it is on the forehead and nose and it causes peeling of skin when ever we moisturise it.
