For how many days is it safe to use exfoliation creams like (10% mandelic acid, or glycolic acid cream ), can we use of we have acne scars ?

No , my Dr recommended me this fr acne scars and told me to use daily at night, I'm unable to contact him now ,that's why I'm asking, hv been using fr a month (10%mandelic acid ) .now hv stopped . Can I use it twice a week ?
