Talk to Dermatologist on Hair Fall After Appendectomy

I just had an appendix surgery couple weeks back and immediately after my surgery I’m experiencing extreme hair fall, although there is new hair growth too as i can see baby hair on my scalp. Can this be telogen effluvium? And what can i do to solve it?

It can be Telogen Effluvium however 2 weeks time is way too less to develop the condition . Good part is that you are already noticing baby hair . Get your Hemoglobin levels checked . Do u have any thyroid problems or any other health condition ? Dig the cause before starting treatment

This means your body was under stress of anaemia since long . Any new stressor triggered the condition. Please repeat your hemoglobin and try replacing with supplements. Once your anaemia will be corrected , hair fall will automatically stop and your general health will also improve. Hope it helps.
