Talk to Dermatologist on LPP Pigmentation From Using Indigo Dye

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 58 years old, Vancouver Canada

I used indigo dye once in May 2025 and developed a severe rash on my face and neck. Now a year later I have dark gray pigmentation on my forehead (temples) and sides of mace, chin and neck. Ii wasn’t diagnosed until this year. My dermatologist here didn’t want to a biopsy to confirm as it was going to scar my face. He has put me on Tacrolimus ointment but it makes the pigmentation darker. I think the disease is no longer active but I have dark grey patches as mentioned. I also tried oral TXA which didn’t seem to help. I use tinted sunscreen religiously and stay out of the sun and outdoors. Nothing is helping.
