Talk to Dermatologist on Pain In Kidney

hello, 1 month ago I went to a dermatologist because I had skin infection, he gives me some creams and Levofloxacin 500 mg antibiotic .I used medicines and skin condition got better,again I went to him an DC again he gives me Levofloxacin for 15 days,,problem is last night I had pain in my left kidney,but in ultrasound report everything was normal and doctor gives me pain kilers and I got better, my questions, is taking Levofloxacin antibiotic for longer period is harmful to other organs in body? or it is ok to take that when your doctor you this because your infection remain??? guide me please.
hello there,
any oral antibiotic for longer term can affect various organs of the body , specially your bowel and liver.
when you had this pain to the left sided abdomen it may be coming from your bowel as well.?
for various skin conditions its a common practice to prescribe oral abx for upto 6 months and over.
majority people remain well.
however if the pain comes on i would suggest to stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor.
