Talk to Dermatologist on Photosensitive Psoriasiform Eczema

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 22 years old, Islamabad

Assalam-o-Alaikum Doctor,

I have been diagnosed with photosensitive psoriasiform eczema. In winter, the skin on my face repeatedly peels, revealing new pink and sensitive skin underneath. My face becomes very dry, and the peeling continues even when I use moisturizer. I also experience itching on my face and a watery or slippery sensation when I touch my skin, although no actual fluid comes out.

My hands have also been dry, red, and peeling for the past 1–2 months. I experience itching on my hands at night, which makes it difficult to sleep under a blanket. I have to keep my hands outside the blanket because the itching becomes uncomfortable.

Sunlight worsens my condition. I would like to know why my skin keeps peeling, whether my eczema is still active, and what treatment or precautions you would recommend.

Thank you.
