You had hair loss after injury, this happens when your hair follicles are damaged. Once the hair follicles are dead the hair growth is not possible. Topical agents only work if the follicles are intact. If u go for transplant they will take follicles from your scalp and transplant it on the affected area. Usually transplanted hair grow like normal hair and after clean shave it should look same as the rest of the beard area skin. U should consult a dermatologist who does this procedure and ask rest of the questions from him/her.
