Asking For Mother, Female 51, Rawalpindi
My mother recently developed this fats deposit above her eyelid. We contacted doctor and he said it happens over time. We got the test (attached). Now she is developing this on other eyelid too. Doctor said getting removed by surgery is the option but it can come back. The test seems clear but why it developed and is continuing? Are there any medicines or get it removed? Thank you!
These are called xanthelasma and it has rarely anything to do with elevated levels of days/cholesterol in blood. You were misguided here.
Anyways there is no medical treatment for this but they must be removed surgically by a plastic surgeon. These yellowish spots occur on all the sides of upper and lower eyelids overtime.
They are not at all dangerous but look ugly. that's all.
Regards
please consult a plastic surgeon.
Peel can be done but % improvement can't be garunteed compared to removing by surgery. Regards
