My mother got injury on one of the fingers of her left foot which slowly and gradually became worse and developed into an ulcer (diabetic foot ulcer). It became so worse that it caused several complications, including; 1. Unconsciousness 2. Shortness of breath 3. Loss of appetite 4. Kind of Swollen Abdomen 5. Increased SGPT 6. Decreased Hemoglobin Levels 7. Restlessness 8. Inconsistent heart-rate 9. Cloudy White secretions from mouth when sleeping resembling mucus Doctors diagnosed: 1. Sepsis 2. Diabetic Foot Ulcer (Infected) Finally, undergone a surgery which resulted in amputation of 4 fingers of the foot.
Currently, the wound is being regularly washed with a solution of normal saline water and Dettol. After that, it is being bandaged with honey dressings twice a day.
I am very much concerned about the wound. I request for expert opinions about this case.
