I had three miscarriages history endocrinologist recommended ana test results showed ANA positive plz explain me what is the relation of ANA positivity with repeated miscarriage
Assalamualaikum. Thank you for the consultation. ANA positivity with Miscarriages means you should do another test of Anti Phospholipid Antibodies. There is a strong correlation between the two.
You should meet a Rheumatologist at Dow University hospital at Ojha campus, Dr. Taab e Rasool.
1) ANA titre should be mentioned
2) with ANA, it is important to know which lab it was done from
3) are all miscarriages after 3rd month of pregnancy?
4) other obstetric history is needed
5) CBC, anti phospholipid antibodies, anti-ds DNA are needed if indeed ANA was done from a reliable laboratory.
6) please note that repeated miscarriages due to autoimmune conditions are a serious and complex medical cum. obstetric problem ans cannot be adequately handled on messages. it is important to have a team of obstetrician plus internal medicine or rheumatology plus hematology specialists to manage the patient.
