Asking for Mother, Female, 55 years old, Karachi

My mother is diabetic and her BP remains above 155/80. Blood sugar is poorly controlled despite of changes in diet. She takes humulin 70/30, 20 units in morning and 18 units in evening Reports are attached. She is diabetic since 2008 and these ranges have always been out of the suggestive reading

Her health issues include: 1. Lower + Upper back pain while standing or sitting for long (All xrays were fine, Dr. Farooq Mamji was consulted), no sciatica 2. Head nerve tingling on both corners (sides) of forehead (She calls it: Kanpati pe tapkan hona). But blood pressure does not elevate at that time 3. She takes Lasix in morning on finding swelling on feet. ( Lasix cause what she call: 'Khichao' in legs during midnight) 4. Stiffness of fingers of hand after waking up. (Has not occured since March, when she started taking multivitamin)

Make a sugar chart so that insulin can be adjusted. Hold lasix for now. If increased creatinine was due to dehydration then it will improve and if it is due to uncontrolled diabetes then it will stay same. Repeat labs will show.
