Talk to Endocrinologist on HyPertension, Diabetes
Asking for Father, Male, 55 years old, Karachi nazimabad
My father has diabetes for about 5 years, for this he is taking insulin (humulin HM) daily 28units morning. Also he has hep c 4 days back he felt some pain in chest and back area and weakness. On checking vitals his BP was 170/100 . Doctor prescribed him dioplus( bid) and angised(od) He take dioplus for 2 day (od) and fell down due to weakness and numbness on all body. Afer drinking ORS he felt ok and stop taking dioplus. Now he is feeling ok and doing all his work. But complaining about numbness in some areas of body. His sugar levels are also fluctuating (325 on first day and 256 today) Please be noted that earlier he was taking some medicines of hakeem.( made of kala namak). Should he cintinue taking dioplus? What mangmnt should be done for him?

Hi. I don’t need whom u have consulted there. He needs to be seen by cardiologist. He needs ECG blood tests and other appropriate work up. His sugar is not controlled as well but first priority would be to check his heart. Thanks

Hi there. His blood sugars are not controlled which could be the culprit for pins and needles in the body along with weakness. High blood pressure is very common in diabetes patients which need proper control also otherwise the risk of getting complications will be doubled. So, he needs both blood pressure control and diabetes control in order to prevent further damage.
