person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Lahore

After my 1st born son's vaccum delivery 10 months later, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was given 50mcg 5 days and 100 mcg 3 days levothyroxine by doc shahzad ul huq. After 3 months my thyroid was in normal range. Now after 6 months when tested its again out of range serum tsh. Please guide me what's wrong. PS. I don't leave medincine but at times I don't take it on fixed time or a very very few times I have forgotten it. Is this high value because of my negligence? Do I have autoimmune?

Hi there. Anti thyroglobulin antibodies do tell us that disease has autoimmune nature which can lead to permanent hypothyroidism, however, anti-TPO antibodies would be more specific and helpful. Your current TSH is high. You need proper consultation to plan further regarding your levothyroxine dose.
