my father in law has recently been admitted with acute LVF triggered by LRTI. he is diabetic since he had been started on new medications i.e. b blockers he has had few hypos.. he is currently taking 2mg amaryl BD which has now been stopped.. Random sugars have been 120-230 with few hypos mainly happening few hours after breakfast. how to manage it please? metformin was stopped due to AKI
Aoa. Once you stopped amaryl hypoglycemic episodes will not ocvur again ....some of these episodes happened due to prolonged effects of amaryl in light of AKI.....Encourage complex carbo in meals
