Uncontrolled diabetes can cause many complications including heart disease, kidney failure, blindness and foot amputation. Proper control is essential to avoid or delay these conditions.
For proper evaluation and treatment of your father, his full medical history physical examination and some lab tests will be required and regular monitoring of chronic complications is also important.

Thanks

Please provide his sugar readings first. HbA1c is not very bad. Very tight control in a cardiac patient with renal involvement is also not a good strategy due to the risk of hypoglycemia. I would recommend arranging an appointment with a trained endocrinologist in your local area; he needs monitoring. I will avoid very tight control due to the risk of hypoglycemia.
