I have left eye sight -6 and right -3.25. I used to wear glasses already. But even with new prescription I can’t see from my weaker left eye. I do see from left eye when I cover the right eye but the image from left eye is smaller than the right eye and with left eye I don’t see as far as I see with right eye. And also my left eye deviates outward at distance and right eye deviates at closeness. Do I have strabismus or Amblyopia ?

according to your description you have both strabismus and amblyopia
your checkup should be urgent as it's already too late for your amblyopia therapy but still we have chance of correcting it.... also your strabismus should be addressed

Does amblyopia occur after childhood?
I had equal eye sight in both eye from the start. It changed probably a year ago
You probably have amblyopia but this can be fixed to be honest. Would need to see you and then discuss your options.

The above mentioned scenario is a case of amblyopia, which is due to the refractive difference between the two eyes. Strabismus results as a consequence of amblyopia when the weaker eye loses fixation and tends to deviate... Put simply, you have amblyopia which has resulted in strabismus.
unless the vision is good, the squinting eye will deviate again after surgery. It is my advice that you see an eye specialist near you. Prognosis depends upon a number of factors which requires your examination.
