Asking For Self, Female 34, Gujranwala
About 2 years ago, I experienced epigastric pain, vomiting, and indigestion. I was diagnosed with jaundice, and an ultrasound revealed a 15mm stone in my bile duct. At that time, I was advised to undergo ERCP by a gastroenterologist, but I consulted a surgeon who suggested trying medications first. He mentioned that if the stone drained out, we could proceed with gallbladder removal.
After some tests, the surgeon concluded that the stone had drained out, and I underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy to remove my gallbladder.
Six months after surgery, I again developed similar symptoms — epigastric pain, vomiting, and high fever. LFTs and ultrasound were done and showed elevated liver function tests. Surprisingly, I was told that a stone was still present in the bile duct, now measuring 18mm.
I recently underwent an ERCP, which was unsuccessful in removing the stone, and a stent was placed in the bile duct instead. However, I am still experiencing epigastric pain.
