Asking for Father, Male, 65 years old, Islamabad
My father is diagnosed with hcc on background of hepatitis C in start of augst. Gastroentrologist suggested soranib tabs 200mg.now he stopped medication tht it should not b continued.. We r too concerned tht does is mean disease is so advanced tht we should stop treatment... Please reply clearly.. Medicine was our hope

Lets make it very clear that Sorafenib is only indicated when patient is having childclass A cirrhosis with multifocal HCCa and involment of portal vein as thrombosis. If after sorafenib use liver decompensated and cirhosis developed to end stage liver disease or patient have serious side effects like hand and foot syndrome or Diarrhea. This is where we called end of the road for patient.
I am sorry but your patient is probably having advance stage cancer no one help you. Send your patient CT and other labs to me i will review your case

Ok sir i m sending u last scan.. It was in july. Isi scan basis pe start ki thi soranib

Its need disease staging soranib is usually only option in advance stage disease,when other options not possible.He should be seen by Hepatology consultant
