I was having upper abdominal cramps and motions so my doctor gave me ciproxin however right after I finished it and even during the course I was still feeling cramps in the upper abdomen. However, one day after the course ended I got severe abdomen cramps, bloated tummy and watery stools. My doctor suggested entamizole DS but I am worrried what if a different antibiotics is required? Will entamizole target the right bacteria? I am an anxiety patient and I am really scared of going to the emergency during corona and even doubt if they will take me during these times. Please help.

Thank you.
Hello Dear. I can understand you must be upset about your condition. Well first of all the antibiotic should not be used in every diarrhea. The antibiotic like cirprofloxacin as well as flagyl are supossed to cause gastric upsets. The cramps may be just the side effect of ciprofloaxacin . Also flagyl is not recommended in common travellers diarrhea. Since You have taken cipro already, from now I suggest you not to take antibiotic over other antibiotic. Just simply take some precautions at your home.
Take plenty of ORS. I hope you know how to make it.
Take home made fully cooked diet.
For few days just avoid milk or dairy products. In diarrhea and with certain antibiotics the milk digesting bacteria are killed causing excessive gas formation after milk intake.
If you still feel same in coming few days just revert back to me I may suggest few investigations to look for it. I hope this will help you.
good day
