A platelet count of 620,000/µL is raised, but treatment depends on the cause. Sometimes it is temporary due to infection, inflammation, iron deficiency, stress, or recovery from illness. In some people, it may be due to a bone marrow disorder.
Do not start medicine on your own just to lower platelets.
You should:
Repeat CBC after a short interval
Check for infection or inflammation
Check iron studies/ferritin
Consult a hematologist if counts remain high

Iron deficiency may be due to small continuous bleeding in intestines. For Iron deficiency one must investigate properly for cause and the Iron levels in the body

get tested for iron deficiency
and serum iron levels done
take iron regularly .and repeat CBC after three months .

Iron deficiency was considered just one of the cause of temp increased platelets. It is not fair to take Iron without proper diagnosis.
