Patient: Abeera Abubakar, 4 Years / Female Test: Immunophenotyping for Platelet Defect (Blood Test)
Results: - CD41 - Absent - CD61 - Absent - CD42a - Present - CD42b - Present
Diagnosis: Findings are consistent with *Glanzmann Thrombasthenia*. It is a platelet function disorder where platelets cannot stick together properly, causing bleeding.

Thanks, G. Thrombosthenia is type of platelets functional defect where platelets count is always normal but patient is bleeding from tooth, nose or heavy menstruation if female more than 13 yrs of age. Mild bleeding only require Tranecamic acid and iron tablets, blood transfusion and platelets transfusion, ultimate treatment ( if frequent ) is Stem cell transplant. Thank you
