Your mother has developed liver cirrhosis due to hepatitis C. The disease is well compensated at the moment. At the moment no treatment is required. Future complications which can happen include bleeding from veins in food pipe, water accumulation in tummy, episodes of confusion and unconsciousness, and development of liver cancer. She should do blood work on monthly basis and ultrasound liver every 6 months. She should have atleast 1 endoscopy if not done yet. plz avoid unnecessary medicines, hakeemi medicines etc as all medicines go through the liver and can cause harm.
