And which hospitals offer liver transplant facility ?

MBBS, MRCP (Medicine), FCPS (Gastroenterology) | Karachi | Book Appointment
1 year survival around 90 to 95%
5 year survival around 80 to 85%
10 year survival around 70 to 75%
Without liver transplant, chances of survival in DCLD with ascites is very low. 1 year may be 50 to 60%, 5 year may be 20 to 30%.
He needs to be evaluated for fitness for transplant surgery from heart and other organs perspective. Need a live donor from family who can donate half of the liver. In Karachi it can be done at Dow University Hospital (Ojha Campus) or Ziauddin Hospital (Clifton Campus). Otherwise Gambat, PKLI Lahore and Shifa international Islamabad are other options. Transplant surgery is funded by provincial government in all hospitals except Shifa (which is private)

SIUT - No
All hospitals are more or less same for surgery.
The nursing care and logistics may be different depending on the setup you choose, private vs public.
