Exact cause of carpal boss remains somewhat mysterious ,as it could be related to small amount of movements at the base of finger where it meets wrists bones,solution in painless lump included avoid painful triggers, using a wrist splint to stop the joint moving and reduce strain, taking over-the-counter pain relievers, or receiving a cortisone injection to reduce inflammation, Hand and wrist exercises.
