The history given by you shows that sputum is trapped in her lungs and when it gets infected she gets yellow or green sputum. In the elderly patients pseudomonas aeurogonasa is common problem. In these patients symptoms of pneumonia are masked. Please do a sputum c/s examination. The result will come out in one week. Mean while you can start tablet ciproxin 500mg 2 times a day, mucolator sashes for liquify the mucous and chest physiotherapy which is very important in such patients

looks she has stroke and recurrent aspiration leading to bronchiectasis( dilated lung airways and excessive sputum production). she needs swallowing assessment, CT chest, sputum culture and aspiration precautions along chest physiotherapy

During paralysis some patients get their lung damaged by stasis of secretions or by infection. Which can be one possibility for this person. You should visit some Pulmonologist with a Fresh Chest X Ray PA view
