Asking for Self, Male, 23 years old, Hyderabad
Hello, I am a 23-year-old male. I am unable to express my sentences in an organized way. The thoughts are in my mind, but I cannot deliver them the same way. When I speak, I forget many points and miss out on things. I did some research and found that I might have apraxia of speech. Because of this, my facial movements are also affected while speaking, and I don’t have proper coordination. When I was 10 years old, I fell from a roof and was unconscious for about 5 hours. Maybe that is the reason I am facing this problem. Please guide me on what I should do.
you need proper speech assessment , to identify actual cause .
according to the identification of cause, a therapist can make your speech therapy plan.
without assessment we don't tell you anything. it's good to have assessment from speech therapist first.
You need proper assessment. Contact with speech therapist
I understand ur concerns about ur speech difficulties, nd it's possible that ur head injury at age 10 may have contributed to ur current challenges. I recommend scheduling an assessment with a speech therapist to evaluate ur speech and communication skills, including articulation, fluency, nd cognitive-linguistic abilities. This will help identify areas of strength nd weakness, nd develop a personalized treatment plan to improve ur communication skills.
could be a lot of things, sometimes the presentation of symptoms doesn't align with actual symptoms, you need to book an appointment with a speech therapist, she will. observe your speech, will apply some tests if necessary, and discuss with you the possible diagnosis.
These are all self reported symptoms but it is much important to conduct a comprehensive assessment of speech, language, and communication behaviours including intelligibility, comprehension and efficiency.
Treatment can be restorative or compensatory. In case of progressive AOS, you should visit or book an appointment with SLP ASAP.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Based on your history and symptoms, it is possible that your speech difficulties may be related to your past head injury. The problems you describe—difficulty organizing speech, forgetting points, lack of coordination, and affected facial movements—can be linked with conditions such as Apraxia of Speech or Dysarthria.
What you should do:
Neurological Evaluation: Please consult a Neurologist/Neuro Surgeon for a detailed brain and nerve assessment (MRI/CT scan if advised). This will help identify any underlying neurological cause.
Speech & Language Therapy: Regular therapy can significantly improve your speech clarity, sentence organization, and coordination. Therapy will include exercises for speech motor planning, breathing, strengthening oral muscles, and communication strategies.
Cognitive-Linguistic Therapy: To help with memory, sequencing, and expressing ideas in an organized way.
Home Practice: Daily practice with structured speech tasks, reading aloud, and slow-paced speaking can also help.
Multidisciplinary Support: Depending on findings, you may also benefit from physiotherapy or occupational therapy for overall coordination
