I have been dignosed with High cholestrol overall 254 and LDL 191 with some 18 calcification score on heart. My doctor put me on Statins i.e Roviros EZ (20mg +10mg) and now I am facing side effects of Muscle and severe Knee pain. I have taken statin only for 10 Days. What should I do? can LDL be reduced with diet, lifestyle modification and regular exercise or Statins are mandatory? Please Guide me.
kindly visit my clinic for proper evaluation and further management plan.
at certain level, yes it's possible to reduce or control bad cholesterol with diet and exercise alone or increase good cholesterol with exercise but after certain value you have to take medication..muscle pain or knee pain may or may not be due to statin..it needs further questioning and evaluation /history to dig out the exact cause of these pains
I am practicing since 26 years, I never prescribed statins to lower the cholesterol, in my opinion you should be on diet control.
I can help and guide you properly
