Whenever they add Canola and then give the injection before starting the IV, the pain becomes unbearable. Is this normal? Why does it cause so much pain, and is there any way to reduce it? Would appreciate guidance from doctors , as i have to take antibiotics i injection in IV for my kidney infection (cefoperazone sodium+ sulbatcam sodium)

need to check the position of cannula .
if it is placed correctly then the rate of injectable drug can cause the difference.
mild burning sensation or pain is normal but if its more then that there should be a reason for that.
it needs evaluation.

kindly check if branula is placed correctly or not.. Or if there is any swelling /redness. If it's near the joint ,this may also cause pain.

You can ask the nurse to place a small gauge cannula and to keep the infusion rate slow and the injection should be diluted as per company recommendation. Secondly you should use a high quality cannula. Thirdly you can consider getting the injections intra-muscularly but that might also be painful. Fourthly you can discuss with the doctor if any oral option might be suitable for your infection. Lastly keep your cannulated arm elevated and use ice packs over it to reduce inflammation.
